The 2011 parade will begin at 12 noon - Saturday November 19th. This worked well last year. All the small children could finish the parade before it started getting cold in the afternoon, the visitors to town had time to shop and eat in our restaraunts and the ASU fans had time to go to the game.




The parade is co-sponsored by the West Jefferson Merchants Association and the Town of West Jefferson. The West Jefferson Lions Club provides the event organization, supervision and judging as a community service project.

Parker Tie Company is the corporate sponsor and provides all the funding for individual prize winners. Visit Parker Tie for all your lumber, electrical and plumbing needs. Be sure to thank them for their community spirit and contribution.



Specific locations are posted below and will be emailed to each parade entry. If you or your group want to be in the parade you are still welcome to participate. Call me at 336-877-0176 for details.
The space numbers will be marked with orange paint Friday morning. You can find your location after Friday if you like. Line up - on the highway - begins at 11:30 am - no sooner.

All antique cars will assemble at the back of the former Heritage Chevrolet lot and join the parade from that location. You do not have to be registered to enter an antique car - just show up. You will enter the parade when directed by a Lions Club member in a bright YELLOW VEST.

Please obey all rules of common sense around a parade and small unattended children.

Participating elected officials are asked to assemble at the State Employees Credit Union at 11:15
This is a community Holiday Parade - no political floats of any party will be allowed.

A few rules still apply - No candy can be thrown from floats or vehicles. We will keep our community parade safe for all in West Jefferson.

Horses are welcome. They will assemble at Howells feed and fall in in front of Santa Claus at the back of the parade. Each rider/ horse must pay a 5 dollar per horse clean up fee. We will collect this before the parade. Have exact change please. The cleanup is required by the Town of West Jefferson.
