Painting / Staining / Shipping

Any type of wood that you place outside will last longer and look better depending on how you take care of it.
Raw pine wood, without any protection, will turn grey in a few months.
Cypress, on the other hand has a natural oil in it that prevents moisture from absorbing into it. It will last longer than the pine when left natural.
Protecting your chairs from the elements, rain snow and sun, is relatively easy and will add years of service to them. A good quality oil or latex paint will give you an eight to ten year protection with a washable finish.
You can also use any color stain that you like and a coat of polyureathane as shown above. Minwax and Cabot's make stains and sealers that can be applied in one coat. Lowes, Home Depot and Walmart all carry these items.

How much is shipping?
Shipping on the Polywood products is factored into the cost.
The wood chairs ship by UPS based on the size of the box more than the weight. After you provide your address the shipping charges are calculated. This is before you have placed your order with us
The further you live from North Carolina - the more it cost. We charge exactly what UPS bills us for your shipment. No hidden cost
We ship all products in 200lb test cardboard boxes. They might look "beat up" when they arrive. That's the job of the box - to take the beating by the carrier. If you find a piece of wood that is damaged we will send you a replacement part. All pieces are exchangeable with a simple screw driver.
If you choose, you are welcome to arrange your own shipping or pick up your items at our plant.
